저희가 요한에게 와서 가로되 랍비여 선생님과 함께 요단강 저편에 있던 자 곧 선생님이 증거 하시던 자가 세례를 주며 사람이 다 그에게로 가더이다.(요한복음3:26)

요한이 대답하여 가로되 만일 하늘에서 주신바 아니면 사람이 아무것도 받을 수 없느니라.(:27)

나의 말한바 나는 그리스도가 아니요 그의 앞에 보내심을 받은 자라고 한 것을 증거 할 자는 너희니라.(:28)

주의 인자하심이 내 목전에 있나이다. 내가 주의 진리 중에 행하여 (시편26:3)[허망한 사람과 같이 앉지 아니하였사오니 간사한자와 동행치 아니 하리이다.:4]

군대가 나를 대적하여 진 칠지라도 내 마음이 두렵지 아니하며 전쟁이 일어나 나를 치러 할지라도 내가 오히려 안연(晏然)하리로다(시편27:3)

악인과 행악하는 자와 함께 나를 끌지 마옵소서 저희는 그 이웃에게 화평을 말하나 그 마음에는 악독(惡毒)이 있나이다.(시편28:3)

이는 저로 말미암아 우리 둘이 한 성령 안에서 아버지께 나아감을 얻게 하려 하심이라(에베소서2:18)

그러므로 이제부터 너희가 외인(外人)도 아니요 손도 아니요 오직 성도들과 동일한 시민이요 하나님의 권속이라.(:19)
