My name is Daniel. I was an English teacher in Seoul, South Korea, and am now a writer who has

published three books including South Korea: Our Story by Daniel Nardini.

                        I personally have never been able to understand it myself. I used to work on a

Latino newspaper and have dealt with many Mexican immigrants and Americans of Mexican

descent for 20 plus years. Mexico and Mexicans have been part of American history and have

lived in what is now the United States for over 200 years. Yet like the Korean hatred for Japanese,

there is a unique American hatred of Mexicans. Sadly, current U.S. President Donald Trump

campaigned on a platform of hatred against Mexico and Mexicans, and he wants to build a large

and expensive border wall between the United States and Mexico that will in my opinion serve no

purpose. No such border barrier exists between friendly neighboring countries anywhere else in the world,

and Mexico is no threat to the United States in military terms. In fact, the Mexican government has bought

over U.S. $1 billion in military equipment from the United States, and is using this military hardware

to fight the powerful drug cartels that are sending their illicit drugs into the United States. The

economies of Mexico and the United States are well integrated, and breaking them now will

only damage the United States since Mexico can cut deals with China and then exclude the

United States. The United States will then lose a major market and will not be able to have a place

where electronic equipment, cars, and buildings materials are manufactured and then exported

to the United States. At the same time, American businesses export a record number of

American-made products to Mexico. If U.S. President Donald Trump tries to destroy this trade

network, then where will these American small business manufacturers send their products?! This

does not include the fact that many, many Mexican immigrants have come to the United States

and have been a major influence in American business management and also in America's

agricultural sector. This is why I am happy that I am a member of the Libertarian Party, which

harbors no prejudice, no hatred and wants no laws created against Mexicans. Yes, there are

a lot of problems in Mexico, but bad relations between the United States and Mexico will not

make the situation better.
